A former news reporter turned documentary filmmaker, Marete brings a sharp eye for global issues, spanning gender, culture, and conservation. Her work has been featured on major Kenyan networks and at leading international festivals, including Wildscreen, Jackson Wild, and WHO Film Festival.

As a fellow of AWF’s African Conservation Voices and NEWF, she uses storytelling to amplify African voices and drive change. She is also the co-founder of Meraki Africa, a production company redefining development narratives across the continent. Now part of the 9 Nights Collective, Marete continues to push boundaries through stories that matter.
